Dear Supporters, Can you believe we're already halfway through the year? As the seasons change and we sense the subtle shifts in the air, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible support of our community over the last few months which have been very busy.

Celebrating Community Connections and Resident Activities Organisations like Comcare and Helen Keller have become an important part of our community. We are grateful for the strong partnerships we've forged with them over the years. For our quarterly outing, our residents enjoyed a pit stop at Rhodes Cottage in Muizenberg which was very pleasant. |
||
On the same day, we had a lovely picnic at the Arboretum near Kirstenbosch, accompanied by our dedicated Skills Therapist, Sue Miller, and our lovely student volunteer, Robyn Hodson |
||
Robyn’s compassion, dedication and enthusiasm are already making a positive impact on our residents' lives, and we are thrilled to have her on board. |

Taking Action for Safety: Roof Maintenance and Securing our Home After witnessing the devastation caused by nearby thatch roof homes which were burnt down to the ground, we immediately safeguarded our home. We examined all fire equipment and ensured that our safety measures are up to date and fully functional.

April Book Sale We're thrilled to announce that our April Book Sale was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without your support! Many thanks to everyone who donated and bought books. A very big thank you goes to Jenny Tullis for graciously opening her home and organising the book sale. We are truly grateful for her dedication and efforts. |
||
The funds we raised have been used to give our home a makeover with a lick of paint, in preparation for winter. Keep an eye out for updates on our next Book Sale and mark your calendars to continue supporting our major fundraiser! |

Keeping in shape at Hope House Gym A big thank you to Angus Mackintosh for donating a punch bag to our in-house gym. It will be a great way get fit and stay fit! On that note, we would like to expand our range of gym equipment, and are currently looking for some sets of weights, ranging from 1kg upwards we well as gloves for the punch bag. These will really help with keeping the activities in our gym varied and interesting. |
